Shoreditch Town Hall

Built in 1865 Shoreditch Town Hall is a magnificent Grade 2 listed building which is steeped in history. Originally at the heart of civic life in the local community the building is now home to a rich mixture of arts and creative uses as well as the Clove Club restaurant. The building is gradually being refurbished to support these uses and to help ensure its survival for future generations.

Completed works include a new bar at the front of the building, technical improvements to the Assembly Hall and a new passenger lift, giving disabled visitors access to the upper floors for the first time.

The next phase of works seeks to re-configure the design, purpose and feel of the Town Hall’s public areas. This involves exploring everything from how the building looks externally, to the journey through the front door, and how the foyer and adjoining spaces function to create an environment that is enticing, exciting, engaging—and accessible to all.
